"When you go to help, you can only bring out the beauty of life"
Laia in one of the temples that she visited with the rest of the volunteers. Laia Crestemayer had always dreamed of getting to know India but when she saw that, in addition to traveling, she could volunteer there, she jumped “headfirst into it”. For several weeks, she immersed herself in Tibetan culture in McLeod Ganj, helping with a charity nursery and teaching English to Tibetan refugees. But one of the best things about his trip was the people he met on the project: “in a short time we formed a small family”, he explains.
Naiara in Nepal: "Those boys and girls have taught me many things about life in a short time"
Naiara has just returned from Kathmandu with a backpack full of lessons. For 15 days, he has lived with children from Komang, a remote village in northeastern Nepal. These minors have had to travel to the capital to continue studying, and they need help with their homework and support in their adaptation to the big city. During his trip, he has lived "very curious, incredible and unforgettable" experiences. The day at the project began with a family breakfast. “At 7:30 in the morning, 22 children, two volunteers, the coordinator of the

Pedro with children from the project. His energy is inexhaustible! Pedro flew for 15 hours from London to Kathmandu to help in the secondary education of Tibetan boys and girls. “But without a doubt, the long trip was worth it,” he says. For three weeks, he helped with the studies of children and adolescents who have had to leave their remote and isolated villages in the Himalayas to continue studying in the capital thanks to the project with which we collaborate. Life in the project begins early, since that the volunteers and
Gerard in Peru: "It is worth embarking on an adventure"
When Gerard decided to travel to Peru to collaborate with the education of children with few resources, he did not imagine that he would be back so soon. His idea was to make a solidarity trip for a month. He lived 30 days full of adventures, artistic activities and, above all, a lot of dialogue between children, family members and volunteers. When he was going to return, they offered him to stay on the project as coordinator. And so he did. Now, just landed in Cusco, he tells us how he lived the experience. we wish you a lot
Solidarity honeymoons: when "a little piece of your heart stays there"
Rafa and Jhoany and Alba and Griselda were clear that they did not want a conventional honeymoon. They wanted to travel to a country in Africa and not get to know it “with tourist glasses”, but through volunteering. They are the first two couples to have celebrated their honeymoon at the Kenyan orphanage with which Tumaini collaborates. Both agree: the experience has brought them even closer. Even after months, they still get emotional when remembering her. The decision was not difficult to make. "We didn't want a
Monica and her happiness with the girls from Kenya
Monica traveled to Kenya with her partner, Ale, to collaborate in the training center for girls with which we work. She tells us about her experience full of anecdotes, laughter, dancing and happiness!" We arrived tired after a flight where we barely slept a wink. Upon arrival, Edwina (the center's coordinator) was waiting for us at the airport. She is sweetness personified! Hence we went to exchange local currency. Traffic in Nairobi is crazy so we spent quite a bit of time in the car before reaching the project. The chaos of
Lucas and his first solidarity trip in Peru
Lucas has just experienced his first solidarity trip in Peru with Tumaini. He is 18 years old. The first time we met in Madrid, he told me that, before starting university, he wanted to collaborate in a social project in another country. During the trip, he could think about what career to study and how he wanted to direct his life. I was surprised by his maturity and his enthusiasm for making a solidarity trip. He was very young, but he was very clear that it was time to collaborate and get to know a reality different from his own. After talking
Ana in Kenya: "a solidarity trip is never forgotten"
Ana has been traveling to Kenya for two summers to collaborate in the orphanage and school with which we work on the outskirts of Nairobi. And he is already thinking about how to save to return. She shares her experience with us: "I love the Kenyan project because, during your trip, you spend the whole day inside the orphanage. You live with the boys and girls whenever possible. We volunteers get up early, at 7 in the morning , to have breakfast at the home of Julius and Tabitha, founders of the project. The rest of the day
Sandra's experience in Bolivia: "Every day was different, exciting and special".
Sandra collaborated last summer in one of the centres in Bolivia that works with rescued wildlife. These centres try to give a better life to animals that have suffered mistreatment, that have been in illegal trafficking and that, in many cases, this treatment has meant that they can no longer live in freedom. It is one of the most special projects we collaborate with and we always like to hear about experiences like Sandra's: "Every morning when we got up we had two tasks, one that varied daily and it was
Mateusz's experience in India: "It has been very rewarding to collaborate and live in McLeod"
Mateusz traveled with Tumaini last September to India for just over three weeks. There he participated in the two projects with which we collaborated in McLeod Ganj and was able to learn more about Tibetan culture. In this post, he tells us how he lived it: "During my stay in McLeod Ganj I tried to combine the two projects, collaborating in the nursery in the mornings and in the afternoons in conversation classes. Every day I got up early and went to the nursery where was from 9 to 12:30 and
