Completed the works in the Kenyan orphanage

Completed the works in the Kenyan orphanage

In recent weeks, the works at the Kenyan orphanage have been completed, in which the volunteers who have collaborated this summer at the center and the children have participated.

Diego has worked very hard these months so that these much-needed improvements could be finished and we can already see the finished boys room, improved girls room and new materials that will make life a little easier for all these little ones.

The exterior walls of the rooms were decorated with educational murals by the travelers from Tumaini in August. Thanks to Tati and Paloma for the design and to Ana, Antonio, Gadea, Luis, Carlota and Nuria for helping to paint them, they turned out great!

Lockers were also made for all the children, with their padlock, so they can keep their things. They have painted and decorated them themselves.

Thanks to Luis, who used his wedding gift to buy material for the orphanage, they have been able to buy locks for the lockers, mattresses, sheets, mosquito nets, slippers, flip-flops, socks and underwear.

In Diego's words: «After two months since my arrival, the effort pays off. We have finished the children's room. It has taken a lot of effort to teach, convince and demonstrate that earth is a noble material for building. That it protects us from cold and heat, that it is the most abundant and cheapest material, that it is totally ecological, that it regulates relative humidity, that it neutralizes toxins present in the indoor environment, that it reduces odors, that the earth connects us with our planet , which returns us to an awareness of unity and innocence, which makes us more children, which covers us and cares for us ».

We want to give the Thanks to everyone who has been involved in this project. in various ways: through the crowdfunding campaign that we carried out a few months ago, to the company Training Express for the important donation they made, to all of you who have collaborated in the center, donated material, etc. Thank you very much for all the effort and for your support.

In particular, we want to congratulate and thank Diego for his effort and involvement. Without him, none of this would have been possible.
We hope to continue supporting the projects with which we collaborate in various ways and improve, in some way, the lives of all these people because: "Small people doing small things can change the world."

Diego would appreciate it if you could post photos of how the girls' room has turned out. We will try to convince Julius to change his mind about the mud.
I also take advantage of this post to thank Luis and his daughter for having donated the wedding gift to improve the lives of these children that I adore.
I am also glad that you are Mallorcan like me. (adopted from Madrid).
I already want to see all your work and joy there.
    Thank you

We did it all with great enthusiasm and the experience has been great (because of the people, what we have learned, what we have lived, what we have shared...), but this does not end here, we will continue our work and I hope that many of us who agree will do it together... Marc and Berta volunteers who also gave thanks, a thousand thanks to Quest and eternal love to the children!!!!

Thanks Tatiana! Sorry, we did not put the name of all the people who collaborated in the center. We have nothing but words of gratitude to all the travelers from Tumaini, without you none of this would have been possible.
