The Tumaini Meetings are back!
The Tumaini Meetings are back!
Learn to care for rescued animals in the middle of the jungle in Bolivia. Give empowerment workshops to girls in Kenya. Support vulnerable people living in Cape Verde. Help in the conservation of sea turtles in Oaxaca (Mexico). These are just some of the solidarity trips that the We offer to live a different vacation this year.
More and more people decide to dedicate their vacations to a trip of this type. Mónica, the founder of the project, affirms that "Traveling from solidarity has allowed Tumaini to continue supporting the development of small local NGOs." We can affirm that there is more and more responsibility and awareness that another way of traveling is possible.
In 2022, UNWTO decided that World Tourism Day, September 27, should revolve around the idea of "Rethinking Tourism". A much-needed message from such an important organization that has also brought to light initiatives to recover and redirect the future of the industry.
We are moved by transformative, life-changing journeys
It is the motto of our organization and it is that, by taking a solidarity trip, the volunteers help small local projects go ahead. The travelers dedicate a few hours a day to collaborate in tasks such as: school support classes, artistic workshops, literacy classes, animal care, organic agriculture, etc. Anyone, whatever their profile, age or experience, can make their contribution. In addition, in most cases, travelers stay in the same project, so they also contribute to making it self-sufficient.
This year, we celebrate our 10th anniversary, a trajectory that has given us many examples of this phenomenon. "From this trip I take memories that will become the most precious treasure not only at the end of this trip, but also of my life" he explains Altea, Tumaini volunteer who experienced the transformative power of solidarity trips.
NEXT MEETING IN MADRID!
To publicize his solidarity trips, Tumaini organizes a meeting in Madrid. will take place on January 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ecooo (C. de la Escuadra, 11, 28012 Madrid) Free registration here.
The aim is to solve the doubts of those people who have always wanted to make a solidarity trip, but do not know where to start. In addition to the presentation of the Tumaini team, at the meetings several volunteers will share their experiences in countries such as Kenya, Cape Verde and Peru.
