Tumaini Solidarity Trips, With the collaboration of Asegurados Solidarios, launch a contest on Instagram to help you live the solidarity experience of your life. You can collaborate for two weeks and with whoever you want, in our collaborating NGOs in Peru or Cambodia. Go ahead and participate in the # Tumaini Contest! It is supportive. It is transformative. And it changes lives.

 

1. How to participate?

comment this publication on the Instagram account of Solidarity Travel Tumaini:  “Why would you go on a solidarity trip to Peru or Cambodia and who would you take with you?” Your answer must be original, motivating, creative, unique!

Tag the person you would make your solidarity trip with.

It is not mandatory, but we encourage you to continue our Instagram account to stay up to date on solidarity trips in countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America 🙂

Extra point! Post a story telling your friends that you have participated in the contest with the Hashtag #ConcursoTumaini and tagging @ViajesTumaini. We will take this into account when selecting the winner!

2. What is the prize?

The # Tumaini Contest has as a prize a solidarity trip for 2 people (important: plane tickets not included) to collaborate for two weeks on a project to choose between:

• English classes in Cambodia.
• Educational project in the jungle of Iquitos.

What includes?

The cambodia project It is close to Battambang and the famous Angkor.

• Accommodation during the entire stay: in a private or shared room depending on the number of volunteers at that time. The bathroom is western style, there is hot water and wifi.
• Maintenance during the entire stay: three meals a day. The food is basic, you eat a lot of rice and noodles.
• Transportation from Battambang bus station to the project where you are going to collaborate.
• Advice, recommendations and necessary procedures by Viajes Solidarios Tumaini. Place reservation, detailed information on the project, recommendations and description of the place, advice on activities to be carried out in the center, useful and practical information (visa, vaccinations, currency exchange, tourist sites, etc.).
• Online training course developed by Solidarity Trips Tumaini with clues about the current social reality in the countries in which we collaborate. In it we analyze the Sustainable Development Goals and pay special interest to Sustainable Consumption and Responsible Tourism. In addition, we explain what a solidarity trip consists of and give advice to make it a great experience. This training lasts between 15 and 18 hours and is mandatory for all people who are going to participate in a solidarity trip with the organization. 
• Liability and accident insurance: specialized in volunteering Gives coverage in case an accident occurs while you are volunteering.

• International flight.
• Visa (30 USD approx.)

In Peru:

✅ The solidarity trip for two people includes:

• Accommodation, breakfast and dinner during the entire stay in a shared room. It is a room for four people in bunk beds. All beds have a mosquito net. The house is made of wood, it does not have Wi-Fi* or running water. There is always treated water to drink. There is electricity 3 hours a day.

* You can have an Internet connection with your mobile phone by buying a phone card.

• Transportation from Iquitos to the project in the town of Santa Clara (one way)
• Advice, recommendations and necessary procedures by Tumaini. Place reservation, detailed information on the project, recommendations on activities and places to visit in the area, practical and useful information to have a great experience (visa, currency exchange, how to get there, etc.)
• online training course Prepared by Tumaini Solidarity Trips with keys to the current social reality in the countries in which we collaborate. 3. When will I be able to travel?

The journey must take place during the months of July and August 2019. The person who wins will choose the dates next to Tumaini, always depending on the availability of places.

4. Who can participate?

• People adults.
• That they have NOT made any solidarity trip with Tumaini previously (or are processing it).
• If you want to collaborate in Cambodia it is essential to have a High english level.
• For any of the two trips, your nationality does not matter, but you must speak spanish, since the training is in that language.

5. Winning people

The team of Tumaini, along with a volunteer who has already collaborated on a solidarity trip before, will choose the winner of the contest.

To select the winning person, the originality and creativity of the comment. That the phrase encourages travel and collaboration, that it transmits the values of Solidarity Trips Tumaini and the idea that solidarity trips are a tool with great power to change people, lives and realities. Humor will also be highly valued. Also the personal, close, honest and emotional stories.

On Friday 05/17 the name of the winner will be published on Tumaini's social networks and on the organization's blog.

6. Objective: raise awareness

The objective of the # Tumaini Contest is disseminate a more responsible and supportive way of traveling the world: through solidarity trips. We want more and more people to believe in travel and volunteering as tools for transformation, awareness and change.

In addition, we will publicize the projects with which we collaborate to more people. These small NGOs from Southern countries need volunteers to continue strengthening its social, environmental or animal protection work.

Volunteering, learning and new friendships are part of the experience.

7. More details

• The prize is NOT redeemable for its cash value or for any other consideration. Nor may it be transferred to other people except for special circumstances to be justified and provided that Viajes Solidarios Tumaini accept the change.

• The acceptance of the trip must be communicated to Solidarity Travel Tumaini within the period of 10 calendar days from the publication of the winning person. In the case of not making said confirmation within the established period, Tumaini will assume his resignation, passing the prize to another of the participants in the contest.

• The winners must commit to send a minimum of 10 photos and a video of your collaboration in the project and accept the bases in writing, sending them to Viajes Solidarios Tumaini duly signed.
