Avoid voluntourism and the white saviour complex on your travels. In this article we would like to reflect on a very alarming situation that unfortunately is not new: voluntourism and the attitudes of certain travellers from rich countries (we consider Spain to be a rich country) portraying every detail of their stay in the most impoverished areas of the planet. These images reveal inequality and the white saviour complex. They act as supposed heroes who, without questioning their privileges, put themselves in the position of the white saviour.
