Whether alone, with a partner, friends or family; on a vacation, business or end-of-year trip. Start living the adventure of a solidarity trip! And if you can't find anyone to throw yourself at, you're not alone! In Tumaini we make a pineapple forming traveling groups.
Where and when?
We have the dates of the Meetings in Madrid and Barcelona!
In Madrid, we are waiting for you on Saturday, February 15 at 6:00 p.m. at Pangea The Travel Store. Calle del Príncipe de Vergara, 26
In Barcelona, we will be on Friday March 13 in Altaïr Viajes, also at 6:00 p.m. Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 616
In the meetings, you will be able to meet small NGOs from countries of the South that need support. Through them, you will get closer to new social realities while immersing yourself in their local cultures.
You will meet volunteers who have already traveled with Tumaini and who will tell their experiences. You will also meet other people, travel lovers, who want to collaborate on their vacations to build a better world.
Give classes to boys and girls with few resources in Peru o Kenya; take care of animals in Bolivia and Thailand, protect the environment in Bali and Nepal or travel to India to support the empowerment of women while you practice yoga and meditation, these are just some of the solidarity trips that we will talk about at the meeting.
What are we going to tell?
From the Tumaini team, we will tell you about the projects we collaborate with, how they work and what you have to do to start preparing your solidarity trip.
In addition, we are very excited to share our first own project in Nepal. Its objective is to provide secondary and higher education for Tibetan-Nepali adolescents from Komang, a town in the Alto Dolpo region in the heart of the Himalayas, at more than 4,500 meters above sea level.
The strong emotions will come when the travelers themselves "Tumainis" tell us about their experiences, giving voice to the NGOs with which Tumaini collaborates in countries of Asia, Africa or Latin America, telling what the projects consist of, what tasks the people who travel do, etc. And, if the technical conditions allow it, we will contact one of our projects directly. They will be very happy to greet us!
This year, we want to put all our forces into improve the way we move. We believe in travel as a tool to raise awareness, to open minds and change realities, but what else can we do to be responsible with the natural and cultural environment we visit? We look forward to sharing many thoughts and ideas.
Nepal: Crossing from the Himalayas, Alto Dolpo region, to reach Kathmandu.
