800 km of solidarity transformation

The mountain brings out our most human and supportive side
Today we would like to talk to you about a project that is much closer to us than we are used to. It is a project that takes place in Spain, specifically on the Pyrenean path or GR-11.
Tumaini has been collaborating since 2014 with this beautiful initiative called Transpirenaica Social and Solidarity (TSS), which promotes the social inclusion through sport and nature. This is a great walking tour through the Pyrenees that individuals, institutions or companies carry out together with young people who, for various reasons, find themselves in a vulnerable situation. Thanks to this experience, the young people connect with people from very different backgrounds to their own and a solidarity network is created around them that can help them in their integration into the labour market.
Young people and volunteers create a solidarity network thanks to the crossing.
During the voyage, each day the following are carried out small talks and workshopsWhat better place to learn and reflect than in the middle of nature? The mountain makes us equal, promotes synergies and awakens the most human and supportive instinct in people.

How to take part?

300 young people, 20 organisations and more than 200 volunteers will join this solidarity crossing this year. In Tumaini we participated in 2015 in several stages and we are looking forward to repeat the experience. Anyone can sign up: the only requirement is to be in good physical shape and eager to live an adventure of this kind. Are you up for it?
  • When: From 8 June to 21 July 2017.
  • Where: GR11 (from Cape Higuer in the Basque Country to Cap de Creus in Girona).
  • Route calendar: you will find it here
  • Further information: in the Facebook page of the project.
New opportunities and projects may arise along the way.
